Cirrus Over Tidewater

Cirrus Over Tidewater
5"x5" oil on acrylic on treated paper
$50 (includes 8"x8" mat for framing)

I think I'll close out September with a couple more of the Tidewater paintings for which I've already done the under paintings. I wanted this one to be about the sky, and how better to make that happen than with the cirrus clouds (from a previous cloud study) that are with us so often this time of year?

  1. Bobbi, LOVE this tidewater scene. The simplicity is SO appealing to me, with all its hints of complexity teasing my eye to keep looking and looking. Love the underpainting. I just want to drop everything and run to my studio!

  2. Bobbi, love love love the quiet simplicity and directness of Cirrus over Tidewater. Love love love the undertones. You totally inspired me to grab a salt marsh photo I took over the weekend and just go paint it up. Quickly. Simply. Today—even though that's not what I had in mind to paint today. I'm laughing now after the fact because my painting doesn't convey the quiet centered clarity of yours. BUT, your painting fueled me to put myself on canvas without fussing and without overthinking, and I'm so grateful. I'll let you know when I post it (my paintings are ahead of my postings, always a good thing to my way of thinking).
